Minerva’s Market Street Art Spot and Sandy Springs Brewery proudly present our December 2019 Opening Show and Reception, “12 Days ’Til Christmas“, a celebration of upscale, one of a kind, affordable art and craft from the Resident Artists at the Market Street Art Spot.
Each of the Resident Artists has created a bevy of works at a price everyone can afford: $100 or less. Yet the work is of a quality that would sell for three to five times the price at galleries in cities like Canton, Cleveland or New York. No venue in Stark County presents work of such high quality and low price and just in time for the Christmas season.
The Reception and show on December 13, 2019 from 5 to 9pm will give everyone an entertaining evening to buy the perfect gift and still have 12 days ’til Christmas. Sandy Springs Brewery will sponsor the December, 2019 opening reception and entertainment. This is the 107th consecutive featured artist opening on second Friday at the Market Street Art Spot.
An acoustic group featuring All -Minerva musicians Tom Freeland on lead guitar, Bob Harris on bass guitar, Ton Lally on percussions and vocalist Andrew McNuttf will provide live music and song.
In addition to the Resident Artist’s artwork in the Front Gallery, throughout the gallery the Art Spot will feature the works of the Art Spot’s Resident Artists:Kim Anderson (weaver, fabric artist), Anna Rather (printmaker, painter), Michelle Mulligan ( oil painter), Laura Donnelly (potter, painter), Marty Chapman (woodturner), Judith Singer (raku potter) and Susan Crawford (illustrator and calligrapher).
Since 2011, The Art Spot has showcased the work of its Resident Artists and featured local artists as well as 30 to 35 Display Artists from across Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York.
The Market Street Art Spot at 217 North Market Street, Minerva, is a collaborative gallery and continues to be open for regular business on Fridays and Saturday from 1pm to 6pm. The display of “12 Days ’til Christmas”, in the Front Gallery will continue at the Art Spot through January 4, 2020.
As they have done for every opening reception, The Art Spot’s local volunteers, and Resident Artists will provide outstanding food and refreshments. As always, the reception, music and show are free and open to the public.
The Market Street Art Spot is a collaborating partner with Arts in Stark and Carroll County Arts, the Village of Minerva, Minerva Local Schools and the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce.
