Joan Henninger, Artist Emeritas
As one of our founding Resident Artists in February of 2011, Joan has dedicated much of her time these past 8 years to help make the Market Street Art Spot what is today. Her popular paintings have beautifully graced our gallery walls, with many of them finding homes on the walls of patrons who've supported our efforts. However, Joan has decided it's time to move on to another life chapter, without holding any regrets of her involvement at the Art Spot. You, our patrons, will still be able to enjoy her work when you visit, but we remaining Resident Artists will miss her many contributions as we continue our quest to put forth our best for the community of Minerva and beyond. Thank you, Joan. We wish you all the best!
"My painting is generally realistic. I find the visual world around me
to be a place of wonder and amazement, which I want my work to
reflect. Most of the time I am a plein air artist, painting on location.
There is such a freedom when you paint out in the fresh air with
God's beauty all around. I am especially fond of barns, as I grew up
around them and each one has its own personality."
